First and foremost Welcome!! I am Sugar Renee the Host and creator of 513 Heartbeat, a podcast on Anchor.fm. I have had quite the journey and it was far from easy. I am happy to share my 5 tips and tricks of the trade. Hopefully what I have learned will help you on your way to creating a successful and enjoyable podcast.

1. What Is Your Niche?
Wanting to start a podcast is all fine and dandy, but what are you going to talk about? This is the most important aspect of a podcast. That and being passionate about what that topic is. For Instance the main point of 513 Heart beat is to inspire and get people motivated to love self.
2. Do You Have The Time?
How you spend your time prior to recording plays a big part in the success of your show. Write down key points, practice what you want to say, know how you want the show to flow. Also make sure the time you set to go live or publish an episode is the time you keep. Remember that your time is precious and so is your listener's.
3. Consistency Is Key!!
It's not easy, but if you stick with it you could create something the world needs. Don't get caught up in other people's opinions of how your show should be. Create a plan and stick with it. Be flexible and set realistic goals. Success doesn't happen over night.
4. A Place To Call Home
There are a lot of sites to launch a podcast from, but there is only one you should make home. I learned the hard way how life is like while trying to manage a show on three different sites. It isn't worth the stress.
These sites are a healthy place to start:
blogtalkradio.com
anchor.fm
podbean.com
These sites offer there own special perks. Blogtalk Radio gives you power and control as a host. From adding music, to you having a call in number to discuss topics with your listeners. Anchor makes it so people can listen to your show on all the major platforms (Apple podcast, Spotify, Google Music, ect...). You can also monetize your episodes, record short spots for sponsors, and receive support from your listeners. Podbean allows you to get a better grasp of your demographic, and allows your listener to download your show. Visit https://www.podcastinsights.com/best-podcast-hosting/ for more host site options. All sites are able to be embedded in sites like Squarespace, Wix, and Wordpress.
Take your time and do your research. Be certain you are choosing the best host site for your podcast. Remember that frustration is apart of the learning process, You Can Do This.
5. Last But Not Least
Plan out your episodes/shows step by step. This template from Buzzsprout should be of some assistance (https://studylib.net/doc/25339479/buzz-episode-script-template). There is also a $9.00 template with an excellent example on the Rumble Design Store site, you should check it out for inspiration (https://rumbledesignstore.com/p/podcast-planner-worksheet-podcast-checklist/). Your plan will help you stay on topic and keep you in mind of the time while recording your episodes. You should also have a timer on to keep track of your breaks and segues while on air. Especially if you are starting out solo, planing and keeping track of your time will help you in the long run. You never know what types of opportunities will present themselves in the future.
Stay Ready!!!
